Becoming Active
Membership has it's privileges, receive CEU's at the monthly meetings, receive email
notice of meetings, etc. Membership dues need to be paid by the 3rd Wednesday of
February each year. For only $10.00 per calendar year, you can become an active
member and join the fun! We welcome anyone working management within the
wastewater treatment field, either public, private, or industrial. Manufacturers,
suppliers, engineers, consultants and other interested parties are welcome to join us
as an Associate member for $20.00 per calendar year.
We meet once a month at various member cities and towns. Therefore, we tour a
different wastewater facility each time.
After the tours, we meet up for dinner, meeting, and a presentation at a conference
room, restaurant, catering facility or we even have had picnics at the wastewater
facilities themselves.
You do not have to attend both the tour and the presentation to receive a contact
hour. They are submitted separately for approval. In other words, you may come
for the tour of the facility and receive one contact hour and not stay for the
presentation or vice versa, if time will not allow you to attend both. We will also
submit CEU approval for drinking water if there is an interest. Earn your CEU's ...
Every certified wastewater treatment operator is required by the State of Indiana to
obtain 10 - 20 contact hours over a period of 2 years. 70% of these hours must be
for technical development. At each SIOA meeting, colleagues give programs over a
variety of wastewater topics. Almost 100% of the CEU's earned through SIOA
meetings are eligible for technical development.
We also try to have several day time meetings and 1/2 day seminars throughout the
year.
